The vast majority of units (from platoons all the way up to divisions) will use the same equipment to ease maintenance, supply parts, ammunition, etc. In the real world, it's about logistics and efficiency. No, because it's not World of Tanks where every little minutiae of an individual tank model is scrutinized by the generals who will arrange their forces and "upgrade" their tanks in later attack echelons. Why not? Doesn't it make sense that the good stuff should be reserved for latter and the worse stuff used as cannon fodder first? The discussion sounded as if Russians were somehow organizing their offensive waves by tank types. I'm wondering when they'll send in the T-14 Armatas. Yeah, you don't see too many destroyed T-90s. They must be holding back their good stuff for later. Most of the destroyed Russian tanks are T-72s. The paraphrased comments went something like this: So I was going through the rounds of viewing posts on the War in Ukraine and I was drawn to comments on a post talking about destroyed Russian tanks. I tried editing it as best I could to deliver the message without being too snippy. I had started this post before my last one but could not get all the thoughts in correctly and the post started burgeoning out of control.
